see a blot, hit a blot double blunder

Here is another "see a blot hit a blot" blunder. Those blots are hard to resist when we roll a hitting number but you have to ask yourself. Am I really better off if I hit?

3 pt match score 0-0, I am holding a 2 cube. In this case I had no business hitting. The race was close, opponent has a much stronger board that I want no part of by getting hit. My plan should have been to avoid any contact and try to race it out. I hit, got lucky opponent missed the shot and I improved, redoubled and won. Match eval was "intermediate".
